When we see the daimon’s animal face, or the daimon-familiar, this could be in a species of animal or bird that appears at key moments in our lives. We might see the daimon in a creature that some believe is our ‘pet’ – but we know better. It is arguably the most personal face of the daimon, as it shows itself as a being with personality: in physical form, with physical needs and preferences.
